Decorating a children’s room opens up fresh new ideas to think about for the designers and it becomes an exciting challenge especially if they are provided with a limited space. A danish dream concept for a room was fulfilled for 3 children: two twins and a girl, 10 years of age.
This 20 sqm room designed by IDr. Rossy Yabut Rojales and Design Associate Val Sioson is a mix of Scandinavian and French Country style. Nancy Lorenzo, the mother of the children came to Design by Heima with a vision for her children in mind. Since the children will be growing up in that room altogether, the design should serve as an inspiration for them upon growing up.
Here is a room for children that can inspire your own design!
Making a layout surely becomes a challenge and in addition, the design should cater to the children’s lifestyle as well. The layout of the space is an open area for them to have space to play and do their different activities. Since it was a small space, the designers advised for their furniture to be customised to fit the space. A custom-made bunk bed was designed for twin boys the age of 9.
Upon entrance, a vanity area for the children can be found. for the mother, Nancy, to effectively teach them about good grooming.
Looking ahead, one will immediately see a mural which gives a global perspective for the children with the use of a world map as wallpaper. It also connotes that fondness of the family to travel together. The customized mural included some elements that signified what the three children want to be when they grow up: an engineer, a designer, and an astronaut!
The designers kept it fun for the children by making the color palette light and easy on the eyes: muted tones of pink, blue, and green!
The designers had to take into account that the children have a lot of extra curricular activities. With that in mind, the designers provided a table with a glass board for them do their activities in. Since they have a lot of toys, they had to create space for storage without sacrificing much space as well.
Over all, the kids bedroom is a playful, dynamic, and engaging space that encourages interactivity, for home-grown talent headed towards a world of possibilities.
