What better way to celebrate a successful year than to spend it at the beach with your team? Spending days away from the hustle and bustle of the city and instead, go experience chill nights under fields of stars that can only be seen in the outskirts of the city. To celebrate the fruits of our labor, Rossy & Bong Rojales, founders of Heima & Heim Interiors decide to take the Heim & Heima team last December at Zambales!
We had a fun-filled bonding experience with the rest of the team for 3 days and 2 nights at a luxury resort name Zambawood. In Heima, it is always important to celebrate and acknowledge all the hard work and dedication each and every member of the team has accomplished through out the whole year. This get together, in a way also creates a special bond among each and every member of the team.
Zambawood was built for Julyan, an adult with special needs. His parents successfully built, designed, an fully developed the resort for him to spend his days in a place similar to paradise. Later on, others have been able to experience paradise in the same place as well.
For 3 days and 2 nights, bonded over team challenges, getting to know sessions, good food, music, and good times! We have for you, highlights from our trip to serve as inspiration when you plan to do any trips of your own, whether it be with the company, family, or friends for the year 2017!
8:30 – Trekking
On the way to Zambawood, we stopped over a place where we could go trekking. Together, the team trekked on a 30-min pathway that ended up with a view of the waterfalls! We gathered together to learn about the different ways to use bamboo.
1:30- Lunch at Casa San Miguel
We had lunch at one of the places in San Antonio that boasts of it’s rich cultural heritage. Casa San Miguel, is an unassuming place but once you delve into the place, you’re sure to find rich history and culture that has remained since the 1920’s. The 15-hectare area speaks about the rich history of San Antonio through its different galleries and exhibits you can discover right when you visit.
The team was able to tour around the area, discovering bits of art and culture left behind in this 95 yr old property which we saw right before our eyes. Casa San Miguel also houses a few guest rooms, their own restaurant (were we had lunch in), a pre-school, and even a concert hall.

3:30pm-5:30 – Beach games & bonfire session
Upon arrival, we had a few minutes to fix up and decided to head straight to the beach (which is a 5 minute drive from the resort). Through a series of enjoyable team bonding games, teams unseemingly but surely built communication skills, effective conflict resolution skills and team work. The Heim & Heima team played different beach games, showing the hidden competitiveness in each and everyone of us!
We ended the crazy afternoon with a calming bonfire session under a field of stars.
8:00 – Dinner & bonding sessions
After dinner, the Heim and Heima team took center stage to show their own Christmas performances. After which, everyone joined in a circle to play an amusing game of White Elephant (where everyone fought for that one Monopoly board). We got to know each and every member of the team better afterwards, hung around, and rested for yet another day!
10:00 am – Surfing/Beach exercise
We didn’t waste the chance of a sunny day and headed on over to the beach after breakfast where some of us tried surfing lessons for the first time. We had our own spot by the beach with mats, pillows and a big tent, providing a group of 30 people a nice spot to relax in. Excited newbies were introduced to their own instructors who alotted an hour of lessons each for us.
3:00 pm – Pool games
After our delicious buffet lunch, we took time to rest for a while to prepare for the games about to come. There were groups split into two from Heim & Heima and we played three different games in the pool. Our hidden competitiveness was revealed yet again as each team was determined to win: even those who didn’t know how to swim! We had light snacks after because pretty soon we will be preparing for dinner.
7:00 – Dinner & toast
After our dinner, we had a toast to celebrate 2016 and the year to come with the highs and even the lows we experienced, new relationships made, and the over-all the growth Heim and Heima gained in the year 2016.
8:00 onwards – Bonding sessions
From this time onwards, the team bonded even more with Taboo, charades, an intense game of Werewolf, and stop dance!
DAY 3 – DECEMBER 18
Lunch at Abe’s Farm 1:00 PM
On the way home, we stopped over Abe’s Farm for lunch that had a variety of Filipino food. We encouraged our own French interns to try Filipino dishes and even frogs & crickets available from their menu, which was surprisingly good.
Drop off at Heima Brixton – 5:00pm
“We are indeed hopeful for the 2017 to be full It was a great 2016 for us at Heima and Heim Interiors. We had a great year end get together as we took the time to bond, rest and be ready as we look forward to an even bigger and better year ahead.”
