This spot is so new, they were just polishing their interiors 20 weeks ago! If you’re looking forward to impressing your date, then take him or her to Little Owl Café. They place almost feels like an oasis in the middle of good ‘ol Quezon City. Tucked in the pockets of New Manila, it’s great place for breather after a busy week or day — perfect if you two have been spending quite some time away from each other and is and dire need of some QT and RnR.
Apart from their feel-good breakfast food, the two-storey neighborhood cafe boasts of their simple, clean, yet sophisticated interiors. It’s white walls and floors, black-framed arched windows, toffee-coloured chairs, brass lamps, and wooden details all blend in harmoniously and create a friendly space for good food and good company.
If you’re feeling generous, you can even reserve the entire place for a private function or party. Thinking of throwing an all-single’s all-nighter? Be their guest! It’s huge enough to hold around 50 people.
Also, to give you some bonus info, there’s a couple of bars nearby you can check out after your Little Owl date or party. One of them is actually just right across the street. We won’t tell you the name but let us know when you find it. *wink*

3. SALON DE NING, The Manila Peninsula
For those looking for a more sophisticated, dress-coded date experience, Salon de Ning is right up your alley. The space has a mood of Wong Kar Wai film, making us literally In the Mood for Love. True enough, the place is actually an echo to period clubbing in Asia — although not in Hong Kong like the film, but Shanghai in the 1930s. Nonetheless, every nook is a photo op waiting to happen. And if you’re a photography nut like us at DMH, we know what you’re already thinking — it has great lighting for mood photography.

4. PIO’S KITCHEN, QC
An ancestral home turned into a pristine white and royal blue restaurant, Pio’s Kitchen is probably the most-sought after private dining experience to date. Its luxury and comfort in one. Get ready for this one because you’re in for some major interior-envy. Although the house has been redesigned, it kept some parts that reminds us of our grandparents’ home. Those grill-protected windows, vertical wooden plank walls, the vintage electric stove and lamps– it feels like a homecoming!
The place is easy, unpretentious, and beautiful without even trying. It’s all white walls and huge windows add to it’s warm vibe, giving visitors a generous space to feel at home in. It’s just the perfect place for quiet, relaxed conversations over extra special home-cooked meals. Tip: try their paella. It’s to die for.

Their interesting and original menu is equaled by their extensive list of wines and spirits.
And seriously, you HAVE to see this place at night.
It’s romantic but not uptight. Sweet but not cheesy. It’s the non-formulaic V-day date place. Picture yourself seated there at the candle-lit table near the window with your partner. *Sigh*
