Cool Office Spaces: A Tour of The Belo Essentials Office

Seeing the Belo Essentials office for the first time really made us all kinds of excited! Walking into an office like that felt surreal. It had its own elegant, and light/airy feel to it as soon as we entered the space. The existing 500 sqm corporate space was designed by designers Rossy Rojales and Shyl Ricohermoso from Heim Interiors in just a span of FIVE months.

The design concept of the space used materials that emanated beauty. The office space had an airy, bright, and clean look. To make the space feel more alive, elements of sophisticated green nature was added to the space! The over-all purposeful design was made to be attractive, yet functional and flexible for productivity in the workplace.

The initial challenge for the Heim Interiors team was to work with the limited space given which couldn’t be extended anymore. Through the design process, the team was able to innovate and find a comfortable solution that satisfies both design and functional needs for the employees and came up with a floor layout like this one.

Reception/Waiting Area

Upon entrance, your eyes will immediately catch a marble finish reception counter behind the antique brass letter cutout mounted on the wall which is highlighted from the center of the space.

According to Shyl, “My favorite space is the reception/waiting area because most of the materials that we used are reflection of the branding that is inviting, airy and elegant but not intimidating. “

Positioned beside is the waiting lounge with sectional sofa and open shelvings for display and decors giving a welcoming feel to visitors in a professional setting. The walls are dominated by wainscot panels painted in white finish and bricks as accent. The use of earth tone colors on walls and floors give a sense of brightness and airiness while emphasizing the branding.

Workspace

The concept was to provide an open plan workspace which will encourage the staff for fruitful collaborations with others while still creating a privacy and connects with the rest of the space. According to the designers, “We used open ceiling and concrete floor to reflect modern office image and less ‘corporate’ appearance.” The workspace utilizes a combination of both warm and cold materials such as bricks and wainscot panels painted in muted blue color which gives the user a refreshing and airy feeling. In addition, they used contrasting colors to balance the space while creating a harmony between all the elements.

Part of open workspace is the sales/field work area. It designed to be a more flexible work setting which can also be used for informal meeting or brainstorming.

Communal/Breakout Area

Located at the center of  the open workspace is a communal/breakout area where workers can host informal meetings or group discussions. The accent wall serves as a partition between the workspace to give privacy from the others. For this, the designers used upholstered chairs (Made by Heima) paired with trestle table in light wood finish, decorative light and brass decors to create an inviting atmosphere and lend a touch of elegance to the space.

Pantry

From the workspace, you can immediately see the pantry with glass wall partitions- offering visual contact between the two areas. The designers used bricks painted in white as an accent wall. There’s a variety of furniture pieces from bar tables to standard seating spots and custom banquet seating to bring fun and creativity as they enjoy their lunch and coffee break. Anyone would love for their pantry to be like this! Behind the bar table is a pantry cabinet which complements with the subway tiles. It has a small sink and open display shelves for storage of dinnerware and some decors.

According to Shyl, “I also like the pantry area because it brings out a great setting not just for lunch and coffee break but even provide a comfortable spot for informal working experience.”

This office was definitely a stand out! It also goes to show the important role of design when it comes to office spaces!
