Bali will blow you away. Aside from its surf and shores, Bali boasts an amazing view even far from the water. It’s glamorous villas after villas and Instagram worthy spaces, street after street. And if all that just sounds too good to be true, here’s a rundown to prove it to you!

1. La Plancha
La Plancha is the land, or rather sand, of pretty parasols and vibrant beanbags. Swing by this Seminyak beachside bar, sip on drinks, and sink deeper into the sand while watching La Plancha dim from the sunset spotlight. Light bulbs and stained glass lamps will slowly glimmer bright under the dark night sky, and you’ll see just how La Plancha’s bright colors and radiant spirit will refuse to be taken over by the shadows.

2. Old Man
Old Man’s at the Batu Bolong beach is another bar and grill by the shore that shouldn’t be missed. Come in and take a seat at any of the colorful communal tables indoors and outdoors, or head for the walls and strike a pose against the many murals spread around. Watch the surfers wash up at the outdoor showers, or watch them get wiped out in the water. At Old Man’s there’s always a good view waiting for you, may it be the sea or the spaces in the spot itself.
3. Sea Circus
Contrary to its name, Sea Circus is a place far from the sea that’s worth seeing. Stand outside of this restaurant in Seminyak and you’ll already find a spot perfect for a picture. And if the whimsical mural outside and pastel tinted windows don’t convince you, then you can head indoors. Sit by the bar or scoot in a booth, you’re bound to find patterns and pastels all around. Sea Circus is pretty inside and out, so much so that even their bathroom is set up with art and a bulbed vanity mirror.
4. The Bistrot
And if that wasn’t fab enough, feast your eyes on the glamour of The Bistrot. This sophisticated restaurant will have your eyes twinkling the very moment you step in. Look up and find chandeliers hanging, brick walls styled with a collection of antiques, and a bar set with silver accents. It’s a vintage spot in the metro that’s worth the visit.

6. La Favela
Another spot that you wouldn’t want to miss is La Favela in Seminyak. It’s just a little tricky to find it, thanks to the multitude of greens that almost devour it’s signage. Once found, you’ll get lost in La Favela’s beauty. Make your way inside through a dark alley of lush greenery and surprisingly be transported into a different time. Take a spot at the bar and get cozy under warm yellow bulb lights. Sit yourself on tufted chairs or leather stools and have a chat while surrounded by vintage pieces, repurposed furniture and graffiti murals. Take a stroll in the enchanted garden, which in fact could pass of as a jungle, or grab a drink by the Volkswagen Van bar. You’ll see that no inch of La Favela is left undecorated, making it a gold mine for anyone’s Instagram feed.

7. La Laguna
Another place that will make you rethink where you are is La Laguna. Located in Canggu, this bar and restaurant is a caravan of surprises, corner after corner. Aside from being beachside and secluded, La Laguna champions the rustic chic gypsy-inspired look all throughout the estate. You’ll find wooden hand painted chests, colorful staircases, layered and patterned fabrics, embroidered pillows, doily table placemats, and picturesque caravans all over. The overall theme transports you to a different place; one that will make you want to photograph every inch of it.

8. Motel Mexicola
And if that place didn’t teleport you far enough from Bali, then you should head on over to Motel Mexicola. This place in Seminyak gives you a taste of the Latin American life while never leaving the country. From the terrace, enter the arched entrance hall and be greeted by the altar, designed with melted candle wax, an assortment of old pictures in frames, and brightly colored flowers. Past the shrine, you’ll see the central courtyard, beaming with color under the open air. Look around and you’ll find Mexican tiles, murals and paintings. Climb up to the second floor and find neon lights and Mexican novelty displayed for everyone to see. Motel Mexicola is both energetic and exotic. Fun screams from its walls and people who come bounce the same energy right back.
